Brewster you are doing a wonderful thing. The printed word is a very powerful and uplifting thing. I own a commercial printing company in Dallas, Tx and though I would not be interested in the tape binding machine for my commercial purposes it is ideal for what you are trying to do.
I have one question. Since all those types of machines depend on heat to melt the adhesive and bind the books. That usually requires a fair amount of power electricity. Are you running this off your normal car battery? Just curious. You are making this world a better place one book and child at a time.

We run off of a generator or a plug provided by the venue.
